Forgot to mention "Sherlock" the TV Series!

I totally forgot to mention the recently completed mini series for "Sherlock"!

Elementary: Benedict Cumberbatch (left) as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr John Watson

Sherlock was a series ran by Doctor Who series head Steven Moffat and was a "reboot" of sorts for the venerable consulting detective. It's a modernization of the character, with Sherlock and Watson being set in current day London, brought together as roommates at 221b Baker St. simply because they are both so difficult, that nobody would or could deal with either of them besides each other. The modernization of the show has been quite interesting, with details as tiny as the title of the first episode being titled "A Study in Pink" being a play on "A Study in Scarlett", one of Sherlock's first mysteries. Watson doesn't write about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, he... ahem... "blogs" about them. :P

The series was rather short, only 3 episodes for season 1. However, each episode was a 90 minute show (translating to what would be a 2 hour movie) so you still get a nice helping of Sherlock Holmes.

It's not very often that my wife waits on a show, counting down the minutes almost til we can get our hands on it. In recent memory only "Castle" and "Doctor Who" come to mind. This show grabbed onto up and really held on. Check it out, you won't regret it.

Update: The series has been picked up for another season! Each episode pulled in on average of well over 7 million viewers in the UK alone.

From Series Producer Steven Moffat:

'Conan Doyle's stories were never about frock coats and gaslight - they're about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes... and frankly, to hell with the crinoline.

'Other detectives have cases, Sherlock Holmes has adventures, and that's what matters.'
